Challenge: Systems Out Of Sync
AMN manages temporary work schedules and credentialing for medical professionals in multiple disparate systems. As shifts became available, scheduled, and confirmed, these data sources were constantly out of sync and suffered from non-matching, hard-coded business logic. AMN needed to make all systems communicate and stay in sync and wanted new reporting capabilities that crossed the silos of data to make sense of it all.
Enterprise-grade Synchronization
Leveraging the strength of each system and built atop the flexibility of the AWS cloud, Kickdrum architected a solution to map data and business logic across multiple source systems to a single common business process. The serverless solution includes API Gateways, Lambdas, and Step Functions, all storing data in RDS with APIs to communicate with the in-place customer software. We also built a read replica instance to provide AMN with access to robust enterprise-level reporting without impacting time to process business critical operations.
Valuable Results
AMN now automatically processes tens of thousands of available shifts on a weekly basis across multiple systems, generating hundreds of thousands in revenue each week.
